Description

Fraser Island is home to 6 shipwrecks but the Maheno is definitely the most famous. The ship was first operated as an ocean liner, taking passengers between New Zealand and Australia, during World War I she was also used as a Hospital ship! She found her final resting place after coming loose from her tow en route to a Japanese wrecking yard in 1935.
